Since I've been seriously slacking on hiking lately due to a lot going on, I decided to switch it up this time and go out and photograph in the golden hour of the sunset! Main subject: swan! (and ducks, geese and other small birds). If you know me personally, you know that I love birds; especially swans. And these birds were so comfortable around people that I was able to get up close and personal.
There was a point - before I pulled out my camera - when there were 2 geese and a swan on the water's shore. The swan was ruffling its feathers, like it was drying itself off, and the 2 geese stood there like its body guards. It was kinda comical. There were a few people walking down the pathway and they had a pug off its leach. Curiosity brought the little pug over and then I witnessed the goose get all up and arms and hiss. I had no idea they did that. It was a bit frightening, if I'm honest.
This little duck hung around for a bit.
There were tons of these little birds playing in the dirt and flying around, playing. That explains its bead-head ruffled feathers.
The light from the gold hour sun made for some beautiful reflection and colours to match the beautiful evening. It was tranquil and lovely and I could have photographed these swans for hours.
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this little adventure.
