Prince of Whales Park - J. K. Ribout Photography

November 30th, 2016

A couple weeks ago I decided that it was time to photograph the sunrise on a beautiful fall day. And why not throw the Toronto Skyline in the mix as well! One of my favourite things to photograph is a beautiful sunrise on the surface of a lake and a nice calm, quiet beach. This time was nothing short of one of those perfect mornings.

When the sun finally broke passed the horizon, it literally looked like the sun in the opening of the Lion King (all of you must know the reference; Disney is one of the best). I may or may not have broke into song for a minute. It was really a beautiful site. For early November, the weather was great and the fall leaves were still more or less on the trees. I even saw a man driving in a convertible with the top down; a bit unusual in early November.

My boyfriend Alex was skipping/throwing rocks as I photographed. I was able to capture some pretty great splashes!

The sun was shining perfectly through the leaves and made for amazing vibrance amongst the fall colours. It was a perfect morning. The skyline looked great in the distance and I was glad to have been able to capture it the way that I could. It was a great addition to the background and the frame in general.

Thank you for reading!

I hope you enjoy reading about my little adventure to catch the sunrise at Prince of Whales Park.
